I live in a charming little historic town on the East Coast, the beach is just footsteps away. I recently married the love of my life a little over a year ago on the beautiful island of Kauai and we are expecting our first little bundle of joy in April.
So, let's see...who am I? I'm a wife, daughter, sister and a soon to be mommy. I have three furry children (two dogs and a cat that thinks he's a dog)!
I love designing and handcrafting jewelry, thrift store and antique shopping for one of a kind hidden treasures, DIY projects, and cottage and coastal living. I could spend all day shopping antique stores and estate sales looking for beautiful new lovelies to fill my home with.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..." Jeremiah 29:11
Since then, I've been really anxious to see what exactly my purpose is and what He has in store for me. You see, I grew up in one small town after another and was raised in church by a God loving Mama! It was only recently that I learned how to have a true relationship with Christ...it wasn't just religion anymore....it's become a relationship and I'm excited to see the journey as it unfolds!
So, I started A Life of WhimSea as a way to express myself with like-minded readers who share the same passions. It's a lifestyle blog focused on fashion, handmade lovelies, coastal style, vintage charm and inspirational living.
I've always loved designing and handcrafting jewerly. I can remember times as a teenager where I would take apart my mother's vintage jewelry and create something new and fabulous from it. Growing up I lived in small towns where shopping was very limited and I desperately wanted to be unique in my own style....so designing jewelry from vintage and upcycled finds became my passion! Three years ago I decided to turn it in to a small business.
My jewelry is an ecclectic mix inspired by coastal living and vintage style. You can find my pieces online at http://www.whimseadesigns.etsy.com/, and also at boutiques in Berlin and Ocean City, Maryland, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Vero Beach, Florida.
In my spare time, I'm obsessed with finding and shopping at little tucked away boutiques. I get warm tinglies and feel a certain peace every time I walk into one. I'm sure it's because I have dreams of owning my own little whimsical place one day. A boutique and studio where I can showcase my own one of a kind pieces of jewelry as well other accessories, furniture, home decor, vintage finds and whimsical lovelies. Until then, I'm living the dream and creating something new and lovely everyday.
Spend some time on A Life of WhimSea. I hope that I inspire you to be creative and enjoy yourself while doing so. Keep coming back for daily doses of fashion discoveries, do-it-yourself projects, and vintage lovelies!
