Enchanted Underwater Maternity Photos...

As of today, I'm 36 weeks and counting down to the day I get to meet my beautiful little "ladybug". While we're still not sure if we're going to have a maternity session done {I know, I know...time is running out} I came across this AMAZING underwater maternity photo shoot done in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii by Ruth Powell of Ruth Anne Photography.  Expecting mom, Corey looks absolutely stunning. As many of you know, my husband and I married and honeymooned in Hawaii. A photo shoot like this would have been so beautiful to have done to mark this very special time in our lives.

These photos absolutely take my breath away! The photographer is so amazing, wouldn't you agree? Hubby and I are definitely going to have a newborn photo shoot done, and while we'd love the idea of doing a maternity photo shoot as well, I think we might just save the money and put it towards items we still need to complete our baby registry. Only a few more weeks until arrival....ooooh, I'm so excited! Thanks so much
for stopping by today...

From Guest Room to Nursery ~ It's Renovation Time...

Well, the countdown has begun. Only seven more weeks until little "Labybug" arrives. I can hardly wait to see her precious little face. In the meantime, I've been nesting away!! {Boy, have I ever}

Hubby and I decided we were going to use the spare bedroom downstairs for her nursery instead of one of the two spare bedrooms upstairs. Just seems more logical to have her room down here next to ours, don'tcha think? This way, when we decided to have our second child he/she can just take over the nursery downstairs and we can work on creating a little girls room upstairs for "Ladybug" once she's a little older.

So, here's a little sneek peek into the progess we've made on the nuresery so far....

{BEFORE}

I must say I was never really crazy about this room to begin with but didn't want to put any money into making it over because we knew we would be using it for a nursery one day. So until then the room became a "catch all" for miscellaneous furntire we had left over when we moved into the house.

{BEFORE}

Okay, now that those images are burned into your minds...

let's get to the good stuff shall we?

The carpet was the first thing to go! Hardwood flooring just makes
everything look so much better!!

Time to address that awful and bland wall color...UGH!

But before we could paint, hubby had to install the chair railing. We decided to go for the double chair railings, to add more character. I love the way it turned out!
 Hubby did a great job, I must say.

What a difference chair railing makes...
It really adds a little definition to the space don'tcha think?

Now, on to the wall color! We decided to go with a different color for her nursery other than the traditional pink. I figured that since we were having a girl, there would ALOT of pink already with her accessories and wall hangings. I wanted something for all that pink to contrast against so...

WE WENT WITH BLUE!

It's actually a soft silvery blue called "River Rock" from Behr.

After we chose the wall color I came across this gorgeous rug I found online at Layla Grace. It was the perfect little touch and a great color scheme to work off of. So now I have my full color palette for her nursery. The room renovation is finished, and it's on to furniture...YAY!!

I'm so excited to get started decorating!!  Some of the furniture has already arrived,
 it's just trying to figure out now where everything's gonna go. I'll keep ya posted...

Great looks for fall, even when you're pregnant...

Fall is by far my favorite seasons....HANDS DOWN! I love feeling the sun on my face and the brisk fresh hair dancing all around me. It's the perfect time of year for light layering of cute sweaters, scarves, hats and my all time fave....BOOTS! If you ask me, a girl can never have too many pairs of boots, baby!! Here are some of my favorite looks for this season...

Love the look

Faux Fur...A MUST HAVE and is so versatile! For day it adds a little drama to jeans or leggings. For night, use it to glam up a short 70's inspired dress. You can find faux fur jackets and vests practically anywhere these days. I picked one up like this one at Marshall's  for $40... I LOVE IT!!

It doesn't get much better than this look! A simple black dress gets attitude when paired up with a denim jacket/shirt, a turquoise bib necklace and one totally awesome pair of "oh my god, where did you get those" boots! Throw on a leather belt to emphasize the waist and voila...you're rockin' the look! Statement necklaces are always fabulous to add a little personality to your outfit.

Here are two of my personal statement necklace faves from WhimSea Designs. They're one of a kind and available for purchase online!

love

Layer a delicate blouse with a ruffled cardigan and your favorite jeans
 and a necklace for a soft and playful look!

love this look.

Sweater tunics paired up with boots and a great clutch add drama to any daytime outifit! Clutches aren't just for evening wear, Ladies! Oh, and don't be afraid of mixing black and brown...they look amazing when paired up together! I love this look personally, being pregnant has it's style challenges but this look is perfect for stylin' "the bump"

 Double C! Chic & Comfy!

Here's another example of mixing black and brown....casually. Leggings are a great fall staple to keep in your wardrobe. Here, they're paired up with an oversized shirt and scarf. This look is also great if you're pregnant! (Maternity leggings and tights can be found at Motherhood Maternity). This way you're super stylish and super comfy! Add in those brown leather boots and a brown leather handbag and you're ready to go! Don't forget the oversized sunglass...they're still super chic this season.

Don't be afraid of color! Show off your personality with bold, fun and colorful looks!!

Layer on the color. Orange and beige are great colors for fall. Grab a trench, a scarf and a great pair of flats and you're ready for a day on the go!

J'adore!

Long sweaters! Layer these with jeans, a tee and flats or boots for a casual look. Later throw on heels a few pieces of jewelry and a great clutch for a great evening look!

Winter white!

Cardigans are always nice for layering! Add a pair of heels and chandelier earrings to your favorite pair of jeans and a tee and you've got a great look!

Even an oversized sweatshirt looks chic when paired up with a a great printed scarf, flat boots and gold jewelry! Lookin' stylish really is that easy!!

Color accessories are the perfect way to add a little personality to your wardrobe. If you're like me you have black, gre, white, cream and beige in your closet...nothing wrong with keeping it safe, girl! Just add a little color to your outfit with some great seasonal accessories!

Every single one of these looks can also be recreated with skinny maternity jeans, maternity leggings and maternity tights. Heidi Klum makes two great clothing lines for pregnant women called "Loved" and "Lavish". You can find them online at motherhoodmaternity.com and Destination Maternity.

It can be hard finding stylish clothes when you're pregnant, I know! But if you pick and choose your key pieces (like jeans, leggings, tights and tees) from a maternity boutique you can find the other pieces like wrap sweaters, cardigans, tunics and dress from your favorite savvy stores like Marshall's and TJMaxx. Just remember to purchase tunics, blouses and dresses with an empire waist. This allows room for baby to grow and you still look super chic and stylish!!

Today I'm linking up with the fabulous Kori Donahue from Blonde Episodes  for Fashion FridayYou know what that means....alot of great opportunities to meet other fashionistas and get some great ideas for fall! So c'mon over and join us!

Have fun shopping for those great fall looks!
